Herbert Scott Olin graduated from Cornell University College of Architecture in 1900. He studied in Paris for two years, and returned to the United States to practice architecture. For a short time, he served as an instructor in Cornell's architecture program. He won awards for submissions to several international competitions, including one in Canberra, Australia.
